Dave Dravecky

Dave Dravecky is known as a great pitcher that had his pitching carrier cut short from cancer. After undergoing surgery to remove a cancerous tumor in 1988 Dave made a remarkable return to the major leagues 1989. In his second game since his return in the fifth inning on the first pitch to Tim Raines, his arm brook and ended his baseball carrier.

While his baseball days were brought to a end his life as a Christian lives on. In his book, Called Up With Mike Yorkey, Dave Dravecky retells classic baseball stories from yesteryear and draws on his many on-the-field experiences to illustrate how God doesn't waste any pitches when it comes to teaching us something about him and his Word.

Dave and his wife Jan have written a devotional called Do Not Lose Heart. This devotional encourages and comforts those who suffer, grieve, and find themselves in need of hope.
